Thank You ACE Hardware!

The Boynton Beach Ace Hardware has donated an enormous amount of supplies, expertise and labor as we work to spruce up our cafeteria. If you visit the store please be sure to thank them for their generosity.

Links to Live Transit Coverage

Thanks to everyone who came out to try and see the Transit of Venus Tonight. We were foiled by the clouds, but you can still watch it through telescopes around the world through this link:

Transit of Venus Update

It’s been cloudy all day, and it finally rained at about 4.  Some of the forecasts predict clearing between 6-8, so we will be here!  If you go outside and can see the sun, come on out to the red top.

Welcome Mr. Robinson!

Please join us in welcoming to Poinciana STEM Elementary School,
Dexter Robinson, our full time physical education Coach. Mr. Robinson
comes to us from the great state of Missouri, originally from the island of
Nassau, in the Bahamas. Coach Robinson is also an Assistant Coach for
the women’s basketball team at Palm Beach Atlantic University. We are
thrilled to have Mr. Robinson join our family of faculty and staff at
Poinciana STEM Elementary School.

Welcome Back!

Our Safety Patrols arrived home safely last night after three very busy days in Washington DC. Welcome back everyone! We missed you!

January Astronomy Nights

After a month of cloudy skies spoiled our fun in December, Astronomy Nights are back and hoping for clear skies in January.  We have two nights scheduled: Friday January 13th and Friday, January 27th.  We will have telescopes set up on both nights from 6-8 in the courtyard.  Enter school through the SACC door on the North side of the school (where you pick up students from Aftercare).  Jupiter should look great, along with a variety of interesting stars, nebulas, and other deep sky objects.

If the sky is mostly covered with clouds, or it is raining, stay home!  For up to the minute updates on weather status, go to http://planetarium.poincianastem.org.
